DNR Approves Air Permits for North Prairie Productions
EVANSVILLE,
WI – November 29, 2006 – A proposed biodiesel
facility in Evansville moved one step closer to groundbreaking
this week with the announcement that the Wisconsin DNR
has approved the air permits required for construction
and operation of the facility. Such air permits are issued
subsequent to the state DNR making a comprehensive and
site-specific examination of possible emissions that might
arise from any proposed industrial development.
North
Prairie Productions, LLC, intends to build a 45 million
gallon per year biodiesel plant on land purchased in Evansville.
“The permit application was very closely reviewed
by the state in this case due to its being one of the
first – and certainly the largest – biodiesel
manufacturing facilities in the state,” said Bob
Karls, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Soybean marketing
Board. Karls pointed to the quick result as good news
for the state’s emerging biodiesel industry. “The
permit approval process took just over 70 days from start
to finish, which is remarkably quick turnaround for projects
of this size. We applaud the state’s effort in working
closely with North Prairie to close on this task and clear
the way for the construction of this biodiesel facility
in Evansville. It’s a testament to both the management
of North Prairie and the DNR that they have managed to
work so efficiently in keeping this biodiesel project
on a fast track for Evansville.”
With
the air permit in place, North Prairie Productions is
expected to become even more closely focused upon acquiring
investor equity as the last hurdle before groundbreaking
can occur. The company requires $25 million in investment
equity to commence construction and just recently announced
they are over halfway to meeting that objective. An aggressive
schedule of informational meetings targeting potential
investors throughout Wisconsin have been posted on their
website, and company spokesperson Jeff Pieterick is optimistic
for success. He points to the acquisition of the air permit
and a recent resurgence in subscriptions that have pushed
the equity drive past the $13 million mark as indication
that everything is “full steam ahead for the Evansville
project.”
“We’ve
had terrific response from Wisconsin investors, particularly
from the farm sector. With a successful harvest wrapping
up, we are receiving an increasing number of calls for
information and for equity subscriptions.
“We
look forward to a successful completion of the equity
drive, and anxiously await groundbreaking and the construction
of Wisconsin’s largest biodiesel entry to date in
this state’s renewable biofuels industry.”
North
Prairie Productions, LLC, is presently engaged for a limited
time in an equity drive campaign seeking investment equity
from Wisconsin residents only. Information on NPP and
